Terms & Conditions of Service

Last updated 1 October 2026

Digital BLD is the digital edition of Bangladesh Legal Decisions, published by the Bangladesh Bar Council. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

01Accepting these terms

These terms form an agreement between you and the Bangladesh Bar Council. If you use Digital BLD on behalf of a chamber, firm, library or other institution, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the subscriber service. The public pages remain open to read.

02Your account

You must give accurate details when you sign up and keep them current. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your password private.

An account allows one active session at a time. Signing in on a new device ends the session on the previous one. Sharing an account between people is not permitted.

03Subscriptions and payment

Access to the full reporter requires an active package. Prices are shown in Bangladeshi Taka on the packages page and include any applicable charges stated there.

Payments are processed by SSLCommerz. A package starts when the payment is confirmed and ends on the date shown on your account page. Fees already paid are not refunded, except where the law requires it or a payment was taken in error.

04Institution accounts

An institution package covers a fixed number of member slots. The institution decides who receives a slot and is responsible for removing members who should no longer have access.

Each member signs in with their own credentials, and the one-session rule applies to every member.

05Permitted use

You may read, search, print and cite judgments for your own legal research, practice, study or teaching, and quote them in pleadings, opinions and published work with a proper citation.

You may not copy the reporter in bulk, scrape or download it by automated means, resell or redistribute it, build a competing database from it, or try to get around access controls or the session limit.

06Ownership of the content

The text of a judgment belongs to the public record. The selection, headnotes, case notes, indexes, citations, editorial arrangement and the software of Digital BLD belong to the Bangladesh Bar Council and are protected by law.

07Accuracy and legal advice

We take care to report judgments faithfully, but errors in transcription or indexing can occur. Where the exact wording matters, check it against the certified copy.

Nothing on Digital BLD is legal advice. Headnotes and case notes are editorial aids, not part of the judgment.

08Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, shares access, or puts the service or other users at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to respond.

09Limits of liability

Digital BLD is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, the Bangladesh Bar Council is not liable for indirect loss, or for loss arising from reliance on the content without checking it, and its total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

10Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts at Dhaka have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
