Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

This policy explains how the Bangladesh Bar Council handles personal data when you use Digital BLD. We collect only what we need to run the reporter and your subscription.

01What we collect

Account details: your name, email, mobile number, and, if you add them, your photo, date of birth, gender, address and professional role.

Subscription details: the package you choose, its dates, and payment references such as the order and transaction IDs. Card and wallet details are entered on SSLCommerz and never reach us.

Usage details: the devices you sign in from, your searches, the judgments you open and for how long, and the bookmarks, folders, notes and reminders you create.

02How we use it

To run your account, enforce the one-session rule, process payments, and show your dashboard, reading history and saved research.

To answer support requests, send account and payment messages, and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

03Institution accounts

If your access comes through an institution, it can see your name, institutional ID, contact details, whether your account is active and aggregate activity such as research days and last sign-in. It cannot see which judgments you read, what you searched or your notes.

04Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies: to keep you signed in, to complete sign-up and password reset, and to remember your chosen language. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

05Who we share it with

SSLCommerz, to take payments; hosting and email providers that run the service for us under confidentiality; and authorities, where the law requires it. Each receives only what it needs.

06How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is open. Payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires. When an account is closed, usage data is deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period.

07Security

Connections are encrypted, passwords are stored hashed, and session tokens are kept in cookies that page scripts cannot read. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us at once if you suspect someone else has used your account.

08Your choices

You can see and correct most of your details on your account page. You may also ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, by writing to the address below.

09Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top. Material changes will be announced by email or on the site.
